This year, Mahakumbh will start in Prayagraj on Monday, 13th January. It is held every 12 years, while Ardh Kumbh takes place every 6 years. According to the Hindu calendar, the first bath of the Kumbh Mela is on the day of Pausha Purnima and the last royal bath will be on the day of Mahashivratri. Lakhs of people from across India and abroad come to take part in the Kumbh Mela. The Kumbh Mela takes place on the banks of the Ganga and Yamuna rivers at Prayagraj, also known as Tirthraj Prayag. It is a special event where people are blessed by taking a dip in the holy waters. Bathing and donating at the Kumbh wash away sins and bring endless blessings. Salvation begins by connecting with the spiritual Ganga.
